I am not a racist, but I love my country and I believe that our beliefs, our culture, our way of life are what make this nation great. And it is that greatness and the freedom and liberty that come with it that make people from other nations want to come here.
There is a reason the United States is different than the rest of the world. Our way of life is not an odd by product of geography. It is a direct result of a specific set of principles and values. If we do not protect and defend these principles and values that birthed our way of life, then we will lose it.
We are slowly becoming little more than a "tribal society". The dream that is the United States cannot be maintained with a tribal mentality.
I welcome people from other countries and expect them to cherish and preserve the richness of their heritage, but they must find a way to do that while assimilating to American culture. That is what being a melting pot is all about blending into the already existing fabric. If they want to maintain their own culture, they should stay in or go back to their own country.
This was sparked by an email I recently received. The story is old, as you will see if you follow the link below, but still worth giving some consideration. In light of all the recent talk about global economy, global community, global currency, and global agendas, I think we need to ask ourselves, if borders mean anything anymore. Do we still believe that we are entitled to our national sovereignty? Are we willing to stand up for it? Or are we all going to sit back, while a handful of global politicians determine our destiny?

I recognize that many of my friends who are not "white" may have a different perspective. I welcome discourse on the subject from any who agree or disagree. I believe this is a matter that should be of great concern to us all.
With nothing but respect, I submit my humble opinion.
